Katharine & James had two requirements; to have their own pair of bespoke stunning platinum wedding bands created, and also to have the gorgeous brilliant cut diamond from Katharine's existing engagement ring reset into a completely new ring which would then match her diamond set wedding band.

So... we started with designing a whole new platinum engagement ring, and Katharine had a strong idea of the look she wanted. The band was to be narrow at only 2mm wide, yet this was no understated ring – as the shank was to be almost entirely diamond set but the crowning glory was to be the diamond set claws and bezel holding the large central diamond in place!

This required great detail, planning and liaising with our award winning diamond Mounter. Amazingly, the smallest diamonds are only 0.75mm diameter so the settings were hand-carved and the tiny diamonds set under a microscope!

Simultaneously, we worked on the design of the wedding rings to make sure that Katharine's matched perfectly, with their sought after ‘cut down’ settings allowing the full width of the diamonds on the band. James opted for a chunky court shaped band in heavyweight platinum with a grooved edge design and frosted centre finish (no diamonds!)

All the rings, including new insurance valuations, were ready in time for the couple’s stunning double location marriage. Not only did they have a romantic and intimate wedding ceremony in rural France, Katharine and James had a second service and celebration in England and shared with me some of their gorgeously atmospheric photos.
