To enhance your chosen band design, you may add a finishing touch to complete your individual wedding ring.
The natural colour of 18ct white gold has an attractive slightly steely grey sheen, as shown in the image here. However, on the High Street you will find that most white gold rings are rhodium plated to give a very bright white finish. It is important to note that, because the rhodium (which is a hard white metal) is only a plating it will eventually wear off leaving a straw like colour underneath. The ring will then have to be re-plated, the time-scale varies according to individual wear, but would probably average every 18 months or so.
I would recommend Rhodium plating if you have to match the colour of gold to an existing rhodium plated ring, or if you are really keen on having a very white finish to the gold.
Please note: Rhodium plating cannot be selected unless you choose White Gold as a material for your ring. To change the material please click here.
